We, here at the Malone YMCA, are committed to bettering the community. We have been a fixture in this community since 2004, and we plan to be around many, many more years. We are dedicated to to Malone and its residents. Please take a few moments to navigate our site. Please feel free to contact us at any time with questions or suggestions. We love to hear from you!
The Y is for everyone. Our programs, services and initiatives enable kids to realize their potential, prepare teens for college, offer ways for families to have fun together, empower people to be healthier in spirit, mind and body; prepare people for employment, welcome and embrace newcomers and help foster a nationwide service ethic. And that’s just the beginning.
We believe that to bring about meaningful change in individuals and communities, we must be focused and accountable. At the Y, we measure the success of our cause by how well we engage communities in our three areas of focus.
Areas of Focus
The Y is a cause-driven organization that is for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility. That’s because a strong community can only be achieved when we invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors.
Defining our areas of focus:
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: Nurturing the potential of every child and teen.
HEALTHY LIVING: Improving the nation’s health and well-being.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Giving back and providing support to our neighbors.
Since 2004 the Malone YMCA has been creating a healthy environment for the youth, adults and families of Malone and the surrounding communities. Housed in the Historic Company I Armory The Y offers many classes and programs to keep you active and healthy. Members and guests are welcome at our Y. We look forward to serving you and your family.
A group of active parents recognized the need for after school and weekend activities for the kids in Malone and the surrounding communities. Knowing volunteer based activities lack longevity they approached Kevin Killeen from the Plattsburgh YMCA about starting a Y in Malone. The YMCA of the USA deemed our town too small to have an independent YMCA so after many discussions Mr. Killeen and the members of the Plattsburgh YMCA Board of Directors agreed to start a branch of the Plattsburgh YMCA in Malone. More than a decade later, the Malone YMCA is thriving.
We are honored to serve thousands of our area residents with programs to build healthy mind, body and spirit. Each season we offer classes and programs for people of all ages. We look forward to serving you and your family for many years to come.
