Michelle Schumacher moved to Malone in 2004. She has been the Branch Executive Director since 2006. Michelle was raised in Attleboro, Massachusetts where the YMCA played an integral part of her childhood. Michelle, Stefan and their two sons live in Mountain View, NY where they enjoy the peace of nature and sports.
Our Assistant Director is Stephanie Rhodes. She has been with the Malone YMCA since October, 2014. She first joined us as the Director of Afterschool Activities: Middle School. In September, 2015, Stephanie took on the role of Y’s Time Director, and was promoted to the position of Assistant Director in February, 2016. Stephanie loves her job here at the YMCA. She is able to use her creative talents and wild side to plan and implement new activities and outreaches for the Y. She enjoys helping kids discover their abilities, building up their self-esteem, and helping them learn how to live healthy lives
Amy is the Weekend Manager at the Malone YMCA. She lives in Malone with her husband, Bill, and her son, Billy. They enjoy going for walks together, reading books, and watching good movies. Sometimes, Billy visits Amy at the Malone YMCA because he likes watching the basketball players, and visiting with all the nice people!
Hello, my name is Brian Savage and I was born, raised and still living in Bombay, NY. He is a graduate of NCCC in Malone, NY where he received a degree in science. He has been at the YMCA for the past four years helping out in any way he can. Mostly, in the Teen Center and at the front desk. In his free time he enjoys hanging out with friends and family.
Laura Chapman was part of the “founding” group who helped bring the YMCA to Malone, NY. From the moment the doors opened, Laura has been involved, first as a member, and for the last three years as a Member Service Representative and Instructor. Her experience in the exercise and health world has spanned nearly 30 years … Leading classes through resistance training and core strengthening exercises and cardio spurts. Her favorite advice? Do it for you!
Hillary is certified with the ISSA-International Sports Sciences Association since 2014, also certified in CPR/AED and first aid. Some of her areas of study are kinesiology, biomechanics, nutrition, injury and disease. These, along with my studies in anatomy and physiology, will help her train you to your fullest. When you work out with Hillary, you will have fun, but you’ll work hard. You will learn how to correctly do cardio workouts, as well as how to safely weight train. Hillary develops training regimens around the needs and desires of her clients. Hillary has worked with senior citizens looking to gain flexibility, balance and lean muscle. She has also worked clients specifically for jobs and sports. With Hillary you will learn the Mind Muscle Connection technique and enjoy the benefits of it.
Clint a ISSA Certified Nutritionist, with decades of experience as a competitive body builder. If you have the desire to improve your athletic performance or overall health and fitness, and if you have the will power to give your all, Clint will give his all in helping you achieve your goals. Beth has been the YMCA Aquatics Director since 2005. Prior to the Y she taught water aerobics independently and for NCCC and was waterfront director at Lake Clear Camp. Beth enjoys working with the team of Water Safety Instructors, seeing the joy in a child learning to swim or an adult swimmer accomplishing their goals. When not in the pool- Beth enjoys kayaking, golf, reading and cooking.
